You may want to look for Avrel Pickford. He researched the Pickford family lines back to their original name Pigge. Has photos and war stories . He is from Jeannette , Pa. Also traced them back to Great Brittan and Germany. Good luck.

The BMD records office will take you back to the 1830's then you have to go to the county records office. You can view BMD records on-line through http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/.
Before the 1830's you have to go to the county records office of the last known municipal borough. They will have the BMD records of each parish in some cases going ba more…

I suggest you join the PICKFORD emailing list at RootsWeb part of the Ancestry group.
These are like forums for researchers to share data, you email the "List" and everybody on the list gets your email, then you get everybody else's emails to the list - obviously a lot of it will be irrelevant to more…

I thought I had gotten my family tree back to 1680; only to find out that the woman I had gotten most of my info from didn't have proof that the people she was finding were actually related. So I'm only positive from 1850 on more…

There are a number of ways you can get the information you need. www.ancestry.co.uk is probably the best but you have to subscribe or pay as you go. This will give you census informatio for 1841 to 1901 (in ten year intervals). I subscribe and if you give me a while I will check on the people you mention and see what I come up with. The other usefu more…

You could try the 1901 census online. Anything earlier than 1901 I think you have to go one of the libraries that stores all the old records (again I'm not sure where they are).
Here is a link that could help:

The 1901 census search is free and if you want to go any e more…
